Automating the Creation of Paper Magic Sheets using Excel and InDesignI have always loved the idea of creating beautiful magic sheets for my designs. The problem with creating beautifully laid out magic sheets “by hand” is that it’s extremely tedious and time consuming. Copy/pasting, then changing relevant numbers and colors consumes too much time. Typically, I create a magic sheet, at best, a day or two before I’ll be programming a show in the theater. I would often use the default cheat sheets that Lightwright generates as a stand in when I don’t have the bandwidth to make my own. Ryan Bible November 9, 2022
